Visa type
Base fee
Base duration
Extra months
Single exit re-entry visa
SAR 200
2 months

Multiple exit re-entry visa
SAR 500
3 months
+ SAR 200 per extra month (within Iqama validity)
Example: a single visa for 6 months costs 200 + (4 × 100) = SAR 600. A multiple visa for 6 months costs 500 + (3 × 200) = SAR 1,100. Compute any duration instantly with the Exit Re-Entry Fee Calculator.
The visa duration cannot exceed your Iqama validity, so check your expiry first with the Iqama Expiry Planner.
Single vs multiple — which should you choose?
Single: cheaper, one exit and one return within the visa period. Best for a single planned trip such as annual leave.
Multiple: unlimited exits and returns within the validity period. Best for frequent travellers, regional business trips or uncertain plans.
Dependents get their own exit re-entry visas (applied by the sponsor) and the same fees apply per person. Pay the dependent levy first if any is outstanding — visa issuance is blocked otherwise.
How to apply through Absher (step by step)
Log in to Absher → My Services → Passports (Jawazat).
Choose Visa Services / Exit Re-Entry Visa and select yourself or a dependent.
Select single or multiple, and the duration in months.
Pay the fee via SADAD (Government Payments → Ministry of Interior → Exit Re-Entry Visa).
The visa is issued electronically — print or save the visa document for travel.
Requirements before applying: valid Iqama covering the visa duration, no unpaid traffic violations, no outstanding dependent levy, and the applicant must be inside Saudi Arabia when the visa is issued.
What happens if you return late?
If you do not return before the visa expires, your Iqama can be cancelled and you may be banned from returning to Saudi Arabia for up to 3 years.
Employers must report no-shows to Jawazat. Extensions from outside the Kingdom are possible only in limited cases (e.g. dependents whose sponsor is inside KSA) and must be done through Absher or the Saudi embassy.
Always plan a buffer of a few days before expiry — flight cancellations are not accepted as an excuse.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a 6-month single exit re-entry visa in 2026?
SAR 600 — SAR 200 for the first 2 months plus SAR 100 for each of the 4 extra months, provided your Iqama is valid for the whole period.
How much is the multiple exit re-entry visa for one year?
SAR 500 for the first 3 months plus SAR 200 × 9 extra months = SAR 2,300, subject to Iqama validity covering the full year.
Can I extend my exit re-entry visa while outside Saudi Arabia?
Generally no for workers. Dependents of a resident who is inside Saudi Arabia can sometimes be extended via Absher by the sponsor. Otherwise contact the Saudi embassy in your country before the visa expires.
Does my family need separate exit re-entry visas?
Yes. Each dependent needs their own visa, applied for by the sponsor through Absher, with the same fee structure per person.
Can I travel with unpaid traffic fines?
No. Outstanding traffic violations and unpaid dependent levy block exit re-entry visa issuance. Check fines first with the Traffic Fine Calculator guide.
Where do I calculate the exact fee for my dates?
Use the free Exit Re-Entry Calculator — it computes the fee and a safe return-date planner from your travel dates.

Single vs Multiple Exit Re-Entry: Which Should You Choose?
A single exit re-entry visa covers one trip: you leave the Kingdom once and must return within the visa's validity (commonly up to 60 days, or the period selected at issuance). A multiple exit re-entry visa allows unlimited exits and re-entries during its validity — typically three months, extendable for a fee. If you travel more than once in a quarter (business trips, family visits abroad), the multiple visa is almost always cheaper than buying two singles.
What Happens If You Stay Outside Saudi Arabia Past the Expiry
If your exit re-entry visa expires while you are abroad, your Iqama is effectively frozen and you cannot re-enter on the same visa. In many cases the employer must cancel and re-process your work visa — a slow and sometimes impossible route depending on the profession block. Dependents whose exit re-entry lapses can usually be re-sponsored, but fines apply. Set a phone reminder at least ten days before expiry, and remember the visa expires on its Hijri date, which Absher shows alongside the Gregorian one.
Extending an Exit Re-Entry Visa
Multiple exit re-entry visas can be extended through Absher Business or Muqeem for a fee, provided the Iqama remains valid and the levy (dependent fee, where applicable) is paid for the extension period. Extensions must be requested before the current visa expires — the system blocks late extension requests. Dependents outside the Kingdom can have their visas extended through the Saudi embassy or the online passport (Jawazat) service with proof of enrolment or residence abroad, such as a university letter.
